wiki

Also known as “WikiWikiWeb”

A wiki is a Web application using software that allows a Web page to be quickly created and/or edited on the fly. In 1995, Ward Cunningham created the first wiki, the Portland Pattern Repository. Cunningham took the name from "wiki wiki" or "quick" shuttle buses at Honolulu Airport. One of the most famous (and biggest) wikis is the user-maintained encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
