NSF

The National Science Foundation was established in 1950 by then U.S. President Harry Truman. Well its developments are plenty, its entry here is due to the organization's role in parenting the Net from its post-ARPANET days to the commercialization of the medium in beginning around 1995, including the establishment of InterNIC.
