Ajax
The term, an acronym for Asynchronous JavaScript + XML, was coined by Jesse James Garrett to describe a collection of Web technologies used to create Web pages the dynamically update the content without forcing a new page to load. In 2005, thanks to the neologism, services like Google Maps, and widespread support for XMLHttpRequest in browsers, the technology became increasingly popular.
