Coulda been blogmarks
The project consuming most of my time got a one-week extension, meaning I had a long weekend to enjoy a few days ago, but also meaning my focus is still concentrated elsewhere. So, once again, is a list of worthy links (in my mythical next design I’ll have blogmarks to deal with this):
- Hack Mozilla/Firefox to display the JavaScript Console in a sidebar.
- The much-linked sIFR looks to be an image-replacement technique that satisfies almost everyone.
- A list of Web development mistakes.
- Heuristics for search.
- HTML Overlays; are client-side includes using HTML and JavaScript — a neat hack that may still be useful in the real-world.
- Christopher Schmitt;’s CSS Cookbook; is out; looks to be a must have for any Web designer.
- An insanely complex demo of dynamic tabs; built on a dare and used as a demo for a proposed CSS addition.
- Tantek weighs in on Trenton Moss’ “Ten CSS tricks;” and offers a corrected and improved version.
- And finally, something both the Web designers and the online journalists can chew on for a little while. The Eyetrack III survey is done; in short the top-left remains the most important area of any element on a page (including the page itself). A more comprehensive overview; is provided that is well worth the read.
