Since I’m getting a bit hammered at work by projects whose deadlines conflict with my planned escape paddling the near north, posting will be of sporadic frequency, and like this entry, quality.

• Jim Munroe blogs his novel, An Opening Act of Unspeakable Evil. He’ll be posting 88 entries and it all got underway Sunday.
• Online news is dominated by male readers says Wired News (ironically, the link was sent to me by a colleague who worked to attract more females to news sites).
• Also at Wired News, Adam Penenberg laments lying about registration and contemplates the Holy Grail of such things, the federated identity — a.k.a., a one-stop, centralized login. If not we could all face more registration forms like the one I recently had to fill-out
• UBC’s Thunderbird analyzes Canadian news sites desire to get their readers to pay-to-read. I’d love to expand on the points raised, but I also enjoy working full-time.
• The Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic is working to make the Creative Commons license compatible with Canadian copyright law.
• The new phrase du jour is “user experience.”
