Today Tim Berners-Lee receives €1 million from the world’s largest technology prize, the Millennium Technology Prize, for — in part — not patenting his most spectacular invention, the Web itself.

Meanwhile, the open-source offspring of the Web’s first darling is scheduled to release three updated products this week: Firefox 0.9 is already out, Mozilla 1.7 and Thunderbird 0.7 are expected in the next few days.
