One of the dark secrets of journalism is almost no-one double-check’s the reporter’s facts (except in magazinesusually).

This is especially true with newspapers using freelancer’s works. While this is generally not a issue—because the reporters know their subjects—problems do arise, as described in this TVBarn piece about a story from The Globe and Mail.

In other media news, the son of Babrara Frum and everyone’s favourite right-wing wag, David Frum is no longer a speech writer for George Dubya. He claims his departure has nothing to do with his wife bragging that her husband coined “axis of evil”.
